Our New Convent

On the Feast of the Assumption, August 15, following the High Mass, there was a procession through Warners to the new establishment of the fifth convent in the USA for the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) Sisters on Newport Road.
After reaching the building, Fr. Boyle and the faithful entered, and, with standing room only, they prepared to bless the convent. After the blessing, Fr. Boyle passed through the halls of the new religious house, sprinkling each room with holy water. Finally, Father exited the building and blessed the whole exterior of the new home for the SSPX sisters.
Once this was finished, the procession and the Rosary continued back toward the chapel. Some of the parishioners stayed behind to look at or inspect carefully some of the rooms for the last time.
The new convent now provides a home for the sisters and a place where they can live out their vocation. Its establishment marks a significant moment for our community and is a visible reminder and example of the presence and importance of religious life among us.
We give thanks to God for the gift of this new convent and for all those whose generosity, work and prayers helped make it possible. May this new home be a place of prayer, peace and fellowship for many years to come.
