A New Priest at the Altar: Father Joseph Caley offers his first Mass at BVM Parish

On June 28, 2026, BVM Parish had the honor to welcome former parishioner Fr. Joseph Caley for his First Mass.

The event took place in the gymnasium with many attendants present. Father was joined by Fr. Boyle as the deacon and Fr. Madanat as the subdeacon. His brother, Br. Isais (Dominic Caley), was the MC.

Fr. Boyle gave the sermon, in which he not only congratulated the new priest on his ordination but also reflected upon the purpose of hierarchy. He mentioned that it was Fr. Caley who was the Celebrant, where he, a priest of more experience, was simply a deacon. He made the connection to the consecrations that were to take place a week later: he is older than one of the bishops, but the purpose of hierarchy is a humbling one. Father finally remarked that the altar was filled with former members of the school---including two dorm fathers, eight alumni, and one SSPX Brother who is currently stationed there.

After Mass concluded, there was a potluck dinner held outside in the pavilion. There many conversations were exchanged and Fr. Boyle presented a gift for Fr. Caley. The event ended officially with Vespers.
